North Brink Practice Patient Meeting

The landscape of general practice continues to change and North Brink Practice has been continually trying to change the way we provide care to our patients. With this in mind we would like to increase the amount of patient involvement in the development of these services. Therefore we invite you to attend an evening meeting, to advise you of the new initiatives the practice has instigated to deal with the growing demands in primary care.

The meeting will take place Thursday 26th November 2015 18:30 - 20:00

  • Appointment Capacity

  • Virtual Chronic Disease Clinics

Our New Same Day and Pre-bookable Clinics

In response to patients’ calls for more appointments, North Brink Practice has introduced a new nurse-led clinics format for the benefit of all.


Nurse-led clinics are run by nurses and clinically supervised by a GP.  This means that patients benefit from the medical advice they need, but the GP is freed up to see 4-times as many patients in the same available time.


Since Monday 5 October, both Same Day appointments and Pre-bookable appointments now follow this new format.  Patients are able to pre-book with the GP of their choice, although that GP works with a team of up to 4 nurses.  Although this means that you will not spend as long with your GP, we anticipate that it will be easier for you to book into their nurse-led clinic and therefore reduce your waiting time.  If the GP decides that they wish to see you for longer than the clinic-format allows, the GP is able to book you in for a longer appointment as necessary.


We recognise that this is different for patients and that the new format will not necessarily suit all preferences and medical conditions.  But our GP team is convinced that patients will ultimately be better served by improved access to medical care.

Other Notices

  • Our phone number has changed with effect from Wednesday 1st April 2015 to 01945 660460 - There will be no change to the services we currently provide through our phone lines.  

  • From the 1st September 2015 the local OOH Service (Out of Hours) will no longer run within North Brink Practice. It is now going to operate from the North Cambs Hospital.



 Our DNA rates for July and August increased to 5.34% and 4.93% respectively. That was the highest that we have had. We are able to send text message reminders to patients who book appointments who leave a mobile number, so please let us know your mobile number when you call us or come into the practice.

Please also let us know if you are unable to attend an appointment so that we can offer it to somebody else!
