Important Information About Swine Flu

With more than 7,400 confirmed cases of swine flu in the UK, important changes have been made to the way the virus is being tackled.

If you are still concerned, stay at home and call (not visit) the North Brink Practice on 0844 477 3121. We will arrange for a clinician to call you back and provide a diagnosis over the phone.

Do not book an on-line appointment if you have flu symptoms.

If we confirm swine flu by telephone, we will write a free-of-charge prescription entitling you to anti-viral medication (e.g. Tamiflu)

You should ask a healthy friend to pick up this prescription from the Practice (do not visit the Practice yourself) and take it to a designated local collection point.

Note: If you belong to a high-risk group it is particularly important you start taking anti-virals as soon as possible. High risk groups include people with long-term conditions, those over 65, children under five and pregnant women.
