Our New Same Day and Pre-bookable Clinics

In response to patients’ calls for more appointments, North Brink Practice has introduced a new nurse-led clinics format for the benefit of all.

Nurse-led clinics are run by nurses and clinically supervised by a GP.  This means that patients benefit from the medical advice they need, but the GP is freed up to see 4-times as many patients in the same available time.

From Monday 5 October, both Same Day appointments and Pre-bookable appointments will follow this new format.  Patients will still be able to pre-book with the GP of their choice, although that GP will be working with a team of up to 4 nurses.  Although this means that you will not spend as long with your GP, we anticipate that it will be easier for you to book into their nurse-led clinic and therefore reduce your waiting time.  If the GP decides that they wish to see you for longer than the clinic-format allows, the GP is able to book you in for a longer appointment as necessary.

We recognise that this is different for patients and that the new format will not necessarily suit all preferences and medical conditions.  But our GP team is convinced that patients will ultimately be better served by improved access to medical care.
